Another industry leader, Yamaha is usually associated with the manufacturing of musical instruments, audio/visual equipment, and of course, motorcycles. What is not widely known is that for over twenty years, Yamaha has also developed a highly successful program for English education. What began in 1987 as a simple textbook on English grew into an interactive CDROM based learning experience. Annually revised and revisited, the comprehensive English program integrates course feedback, implements new tools, and adds updates and enhancements to ensure the most up-to-date English education is made available to its users. Together with the previous year's feedback, the collage of new information and material is continually rebuilt into an efficient package and consistently made available for mass production by the month of December each year. Meeting the demands of this tightly knit schedule is yet another example of the effectiveness of practices employed by our company in order for every project to achieve its ultimate success-and in a timely fashion.
In addition to the continued development of the base material, since 2002 a revolutionary picture dictionary application has been introduced. This evolution of the CDROM utilizes over 1,200 words and images carefully selected by Yamaha researchers. Each current image was created by our studios from scratch and crafted to specifically match the needs of the company. Already a powerful learning tool, the application was even further enhanced with the cultivation of four sound byte samples for each and every image. In effect, the entire project’s humble beginnings as a simple textbook have revolutionized the way for young learners or English.
